Meet the Designer

Caterina Orru designs for COLURi, a small, passionate team with one big wish: jewellery that helps you feel bold, confident and completely yourself. Her shapes come from nature and from two artists she loves – the smooth, simple sculptures of Brancusi and the joyful paper cut-outs of Matisse. That is why her charms feel playful but never fussy: a letter, a star sign or a little symbol that you mix and match into something only you wear.

What is PVD coating?

PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition. It isn't classic plating: in a vacuum, a very fine, hard layer of 18K gold or 925 silver is bonded to the stainless steel. COLURi says it lasts up to ten times longer than standard gold plating. In everyday life that means you can shower, swim and go to the gym in your jewellery, and it keeps its colour – COLURi backs every piece with a 10-year warranty.

L for Laura, for Lena, or for love. This Coluri letter charm is a light 11 g and simple to wear every day. It's made from stainless steel with a choice of 18K gold or 925 silver PVD coating, and is 28 mm high. Wear it as your own initial, or add more Coluri letters on a COLURi charm chain, sold separately.

Styling tip: Wear it with a white tee and a trench coat during the day, or over a black top for dinner with friends.
