Meet the Designer

Caterina Orru designs for COLURi, a small, passionate team with one big wish: jewellery that helps you feel bold, confident and completely yourself. Her shapes come from nature and from two artists she loves – the smooth, simple sculptures of Brancusi and the joyful paper cut-outs of Matisse. That is why her charms feel playful but never fussy: a letter, a star sign or a little symbol that you mix and match into something only you wear.

What is PVD coating?

PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition. It isn't classic plating: in a vacuum, a very fine, hard layer of 18K gold or 925 silver is bonded to the stainless steel. COLURi says it lasts up to ten times longer than standard gold plating. In everyday life that means you can shower, swim and go to the gym in your jewellery, and it keeps its colour – COLURi backs every piece with a 10-year warranty.

The Talisman charm in Snow is the quietest of the three colours, and that's what we like about it. Its rhinestone turns as you move, so it keeps catching the light. The charm is 23 mm high and weighs 8 g, in stainless steel with an 18K gold or 925 silver PVD coating. A talisman stands for protection and good energy. Clip it onto a COLURi charm chain, sold separately.

Styling tip: Wear it with a grey knit and jeans for the office, or with a silver letter charm and a navy dress for a winter dinner.
